Feeling Too Tired or Too Awake?

What Your Body Might Be Telling You

Have you ever felt so tired you just want to lie down, but your brain is buzzing like a bee and won't let you sleep? It's like you have too much energy and no energy at the same time.

Why Do I Feel So Tired But Still Can't Sleep?

When we do a lot of things all day long, our bodies make something called "cortisol." Cortisol is like an alarm that helps us when we need to be super alert for something important, but if our body makes too much of it, it can make it really hard for us to fall asleep when we should.

Tackling Fatigue: Practical Steps to Regain Balance

Fighting the fatigue and breaking the cycle of feeling consistently exhausted requires strategic lifestyle adjustments. Here are actionable recommendations to consider:

Eat protein in the morning: Having eggs, yogurt, or other foods with protein when you wake up can help you feel strong and happy all day, without making you suddenly feel tired after a little while.

Choose smart carbs: Instead of eating things like candy or white bread that can make you feel sleepy, go for smarter choices like oatmeal, brown rice, or sweet potatoes that give you good energy for a long time.

Take breaks and set times to check your phone or email: If you're always playing games or looking at your phone, your brain doesn't get a chance to rest. Make sure you take short breaks and maybe only look at your phone during certain times.

Get ready for bed with quiet time: Before bed, take about an hour to do quiet things like reading a book or drawing. This can help your brain know it's bedtime and make it easier to fall asleep.
